Nancy Edith (Johnson) Fisher, 89, formerly of Gratiot, quietly passed away at her daughter’s home Christmas Eve December 24, 2020 in Chillicothe, OH. She was born July 15, 1931 in Nashport, OH to the late Samuel Parks and Florence (Dunn) Johnson. Her step mother Mary Elizabeth (Stuller) Johnson is also deceased. Nancy graduated from Frazeysburg High School and briefly attended Capital University in Columbus, OH before meeting and marrying Gerald Fisher in 1950. She was a loving person who was dedicated to her family, the Gratiot United Methodist Church, her neighbors and the entire Gratiot community. She had a tremendous work ethic in her life, and will be sadly missed.
Surviving Nancy is her husband, Carl Gerald Fisher, who has shared 70 years of marriage. Also surviving is a daughter Marsha (Francis) Breeden; a son Gary (Lynette) Fisher; four grandsons, Adam (Nicole) Breeden, Brandon Dunn, Nicholas Breeden, and Evan Carl (Brooke Hill) Bloss; and a granddaughter, Rebecca Edith Fisher. Nancy thoroughly enjoyed her grandchildren, and was blessed with three great-grandchildren, Brenden Breeden, Zoe Bloss, and Aria Bloss.
Nancy is also survived by one sister, Dorothy Tom; Dorothy's husband Verne Tom is deceased. Three sisters and spouses preceded her in death: Mary (Ralph) Felumlee, Helen (Kenny) Felumlee, and Ruth (Harlan) Foltz. Also deceased is father-in-law Carl Watts Fisher and mother-in-law Ferol Marie (Ankrum) Fisher. Also deceased are her brother-in-law Joyce Eugene Fisher and wife Marie Fisher.
Surviving are several cousins, nieces, and nephews on both the Johnson and Fisher sides of the family.
A Graveside Service will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at Poplar Fork Cemetery, Gratiot with Mr. Don Phillis and Mr. Jeff Iden officiating.
The family requests that self-provided face masks be worn and social distancing be observed during the Graveside Service.
