Nancy Joan Newman, 76, of Zanesville, died at 4:50 A.M. Wednesday, May 24, 2023, at Cedar Hill Care Center, Zanesville. She was born December 18, 1946, in Zanesville, a daughter of the late Harold Butler and Eunice Hill Browning. She retired from Essex Wire and had worked for Cedar Hill Assisted Living. Nancy was a member of Zanesville Bible Methodist Church where she was very active in church activities and nursing home ministries.
Surviving are her husband, Donald I. Newman whom she married, April 21, 1968; two daughters, Therese (Mike) Adams and Holly (Bryan Wireman) Thompson; a son, John L. Newman; nine grandchildren and many great-grandchildren; one sister, Norma Jean Redman; two step-sisters, Carolyn Browning and Denise Pugh; a step-brother, Bud Browning; sister-in-law, Delores Butler.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by two daughters, Donna Christopher and Lisa Ridgway; a brother, Russell Butler; one son-in-law, Larry Christopher; her step-father Robert C. Browning; and a brother-in-law, Mike Redman.
Friends and family may call Monday, May 29, 2023, from 2:00-4:00 P.M. and also one hour prior to Funeral Service Tuesday, May 30, 2023, 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Terry Newman and Pastor Titus Byer officiating at the BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE. She will be laid to rest at the Duncan Falls Cemetery, Duncan Falls.
