Nancy Straker-Black, 83, of Zanesville, died peacefully surrounded by family at Genesis Hospice on December 27, 2017. Born on Halloween 1934 to the late Robert and Mabel (Durant) Adams, Nancy was a lifelong resident of Zanesville. Nancy's bright smile, kind spirit, and optimistic outlook touched many. She loved the lake, the beach, the sun, and like her mother, marveled at the wonder of a full moon. She is survived by her husband Dr. William Black, her sister Barbara White, son Steve Straker (Tina), all of Zanesville, son Tim Straker (John) of Saugatuck, MI, two grandsons Seth Straker and Sam Straker, both of Zanesville, and son-in-law Tom Sturtz of Newark. She was preceded in death by her brother Robert F. Adams, and daughter Lee Anne Straker-Sturtz. Visitation will be held 11:00 - 1:00 pm on Saturday, December 30, 2017, at North Terrace Church of Christ, with funeral service to be held at 1:00 pm with Mr. William L. Meaige officiating, followed by burial at Zanesville Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations in Nancys memory may be made to the Nancy Straker-Black Scholarship Fund in Memory of Lee Anne Sturtz at the Muskingum County Community Foundation at MCCF.org.
