Patricia J. "Patty" (Fitzer) Joseph

Patricia J. "Patty" Joseph, 59, of Zanesville, died at 5:38 a.m. Friday, March 16, 2012 at Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital. She was born September 29, 1952, in Zanesville, a daughter of Irvin and Jane Scott Fitzer of Zanesville. Patty started her career at Muskingum Valley ESC on August 26, 1996. She served in the Student Services Department as a Parent Mentor. Patty supported parents of students with special needs - guiding them through the IEP process and providing helpful reference materials. Patty also supported early learners with packets of essential learning materials. She was a beautician for 37 years and was a member of the Euclid Avenue United Methodist Church. Surviving in addition to her parents are her husband of 36 years, Archie Joseph, whom she married February 11, 1976, of the home; two sons, Brian A. and Brad A. Joseph, both of the home; two brothers, Herbert Fitzer and Gregory (Anita) Fitzer, both of Zanesville; a nephew, Alan Fitzer; an uncle, Russell (Carolyn) Scott of Zanesville; and two aunts, Lois Fitzer of Galloway, OH and Ethel Fitzer of Kentucky. She was preceded in death by an aunt, Lillian Kirkendall; and an uncle, Ernest Scott. Friends and family may call from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Monday, March 19, 2012 at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at the funeral home with Rev. Cheryl Foulk officiating. Patty will be laid to rest at Williams Cemetery, near Zanesville.
