Patricia Ruth (Abbott) Mccloud

Patricia "Patty" Ruth McCloud, 76, of Zanesville, died at 3:58 p.m. Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at The Ohio State University Hospital. She was born April 22, 1934, in Louisville, KY, a daughter of the late William C. and Ruth C. Evans Abbott. She graduated from Lash High School Class of 1951. She received her Bachelor of Education Degree from Ohio University in 1955 and her Master's Degree from Ohio University. She retired after 25 years of service as a teacher for the Zanesville City Schools where she taught K through 3rd grade. She taught at Ohio-University-Zanesville and for 9 years at the Starlight Adult Program. She was co-owner of Cooper's Interior Designs and also other businesses. She was a member of the St. James Episcopal Church and the Ohio and Muskingum County Retired Teachers Association and was a past member of the Touch & Go Garden Club, CCL and the Zanesville Country Club. Surviving are her husband of 54 years, George M. McCloud, whom she married June 10, 1956, of the home; a daughter, April (Richard) Heestand, of The Woodlands, TX; two grandchildren, Esprit Heestand of Lafayette, LA and Bree (Jessica) Heestand of Pearland, TX; and many nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an aunt, Dorothy Abbott. Friends and family may call from 6-8 p.m. Friday, March 25, 2011 and from 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Saturday, March 26, 2011 at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 26, 2011 at the St. James Episcopal Church, 155 N 6th St., Zanesville with The Rev. Rob Willman and The Rev. Kathryn Clausen officiating. Patricia will be laid to rest in Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery.
