Patricia M (Masse) Sawyers

Patricia M. Sawyers, 86, of Zanesville, died at 2:30 P.M. on Wednesday, January 15, 2014, at her home. She was born March 3, 1927, in Zanesville, a daughter of the late Frank and Julia McCabe Masse. She had worked for NCR and was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church. Surviving are two sons Timothy (fiancé Madron) Sawyers of Nolensville, TN, and Thomas (Linda) Sawyers of Roseville; four daughters, Julie Wright of Oxford, Jody White of Zanesville, Jackie Kelso of Zanesville, and Jeanne (Randy) Smith of Roseville; a sister, Sister Agnes Masse of Columbus; ten grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; a special niece Kathy Huber of Yorba Linda, CA; and a son-in-law Jim Stanbery of Zanesville. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Edwin Eugene Sawyers who died February 9, 1983; a daughter Janet Stanbery; sisters Mary Louise Masse, Marjorie Powell, Sister Rita Ann Masse; and son-in-law Robert White. Friends and family may call from 2:00-5:00 P.M. on Sunday, January 19, 2014, at the BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE with a 4:30 P.M. Vigil Service. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, January 20, 2014, at St. Thomas Catholic Church, 144 N 5th Street, Zanesville, with a Dominican Father as Celebrant. She will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband Edwin at Mt. Olive Cemetery, Zanesville.
