Patricia Evelyn (Dennis) Scott

Patricia Evelyn (Scottie) Scott, 80, of Zanesville, died at 2:08 a.m. Thursday, January 20, 2011 at her residence. She was born March 17, 1930, in Zanesville, a daughter of the late William Poole and Stella Dean Dennis. She retired after 35 years of service as a surgery technician for Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital. She was a member of the Norval Park Church of Christ and loved spending time with her family. Surviving are a daughter, Barbara (Rev. Terry) Rowland of Zanesville; three sons, George (Rita) Scott of Zanesville, Ronald (Teresa) Scott of Conway, SC and Carl (Beth) Scott of Zanesville; 17 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; a sister, Millie (John) Pride of Newark, OH; a brother, Cecil (Lil) Dennis of Zanesville; and a sister-in-law, Delphia Dennis of Manassas, VA. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Abraham (Abe) A. Scott, who died November 8, 1992; a daughter, Nancy Curry; a great granddaughter, Whitley Reed; four sisters, Goldie Dennis, Elsie Bright, Lorena Higgins and Pauline Blum; and three brothers, Leroy, William and Flip Dennis. Friends and family may call from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Sunday, January 23, 2011 at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 24, 2011 at the funeral home with Mr. Dallas Lockhart, her son-in-law, Rev. Terry Rowland and assisted by her grandsons, Rev. Donald Rowland and Rev. Rocky Scott officiating. Patricia will be laid to rest next to her husband Abraham in Woodlawn Cemetery, Zanesville.
