Patricia "Pat" L. (Macdonald) Heinzman

October 20, 1953 — January 1, 2024

Zanesville

Patricia “Pat” (MacDonald) Longstreth, Heinzman passed away Jan 1, 2024 after developing complications following surgery.

She was born October 20, 1953 in Ellwood City, PA, the daughter of Betty and the late Gene MacDonald.

Pat graduated in 1971 from Zanesville High School and worked at Zanesville Federal Savings & Loan from 1971 – 1978.  She married John W. Longstreth in 1972, who preceded her in death in 1985.  They were the proud parents of Ryan Longstreth and Cara Dodson.  In 1978, she left the bank to work with John in his plumbing business while caring for their children at home.  She went on to found The Colonel’s Tin Tavern, which featured a variety of antique replica household furnishing.  She joined Falls Township Fire Department in 1981 as an EMT until 1990.

Pat and her best friend for many years, Martha Holbein, started the kitchen for the West Muskingum Athletic Boosters Bingo hall and volunteered every Sunday making many great meals for multiple years. They also were responsible for the WMHS football concession stand for years.

In 1986, she married Robert (Dink) Heinzman.  Pat worked at Bethesda Hospital and Genesis from 1985 – 2011, where she made many good friends in Case Management, Biomed and the Wound Center.

Pat performed in a few area bands during high school and then later in life (Light, Voltz and Heart & Soul).  She enjoyed music, gardening (which she felt was good for the soul), camping, cooking, vacationing at The Limetree in Sarasota, Florida, her home and most of all her family of whom she was very proud.  She loved supporting her grandchildren at their sporting events in earlier years.

Preceding Pat in death were her first husband John Longstreth in 1985, her father in 2017, and her beloved son, Ryan, who left this life way too soon in 2013.

She is survived by her loving husband and best friend, Dink, her daughter, Cara (Judd) Dodson, and daughter in law, Harmony Longstreth.  Also surviving are grandchildren, Dr. Morgan Longstreth, (Max Frankenberry), Drake Dodson, Kinley Dru Dodson, step-daughter Dr. Erica (Matt) Adkins, and step grandchildren Conner and Avery Medlock, Amaya Fitzgerald, and Emersyn Adkins, step-son Todd (Jamie) Heinzman, step grandchildren Ryleigh, Parker, and Taylor Heinzman. Sisters surviving are Chris (Les) Smith, Stacey MacDonald (Todd Patterson) and brother Tim (Michelle) MacDonald, many nephews and nieces, brothers-in-law Rev. William (Candi) Heinzman III, Tom Mahone, and special cousin Jan (Jeff) Supan, and aunts, Blanche Novak, Arlene MacDonald, Carol MacDonald, Susan Boots, Joyce Boots, and uncles Connie Dick (Laurie) MacDonald and Merel (Kathy) MacDonald.
