Paul F. Burkart, 89, of Zanesville died at 5:25 a.m. Thursday, March 1, 2007 at Willow Haven Care Center. He was born December 12, 1917 , a son of the late Frank P. And Verna Simmons Burkart. He retired as a shipping clerk for Copper Industries after 43 years of service. He was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church, a World War II Army Veteran, a member of National Rifle Association, and was a 55 year member of the Timber Run Grange. Surviving are his wife, Grayce E. Stanbery Burkart, a son, William D. (Sandra ) Burkart of Zanesville, a daughter, Nancy ( Joe) Short of Phoenix,AZ.; five grandchildren, Michael Short, Barbara (Bob) Miller, Paula (Alfred) Webster, Pamela (Allen) Moore and Kimberly Snyder; five great grandchildren, Alex miller, Kayla Webster, Ryan Webster, Sarah Snyder and Logan Moore. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Francis Burkart Friends may call from 2-6 p.m. and Christian Vigil services will be held at 5:30 p.m.Sunday, March 4, 2007 at Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a,m Monday, March 5, 2007 at the funeral home. Burial with full military honors provided by VFW George Selsam Post 1058 will take place at Mt. Olive Cemetery, Zanesville.
