Paul F Casner

Paul F. Casner, 89, of Zanesville, Ohio, died at 12:30 p.m., Monday, March 13, 2006 at the Adams Lane Care Center. He was born February 4, 1917 in Lancaster, Ohio, the son of the late William B. & Minnie M. Williamson Casner. Paul was the former owner of the Casner Insurance Agency, a lifetime member of the First United Methodist Church, an Air Force Veteran of WWII, serving in China, Burma, and India theater of operation. He was a member of the Malta Masonic Lodge # 118 at Norwich, Ohio, a 32 Degree Scottish Rite member, York Rite member, receiving the Knight York Cross of Honor and the Zavi Shrine. Mr. Casner was a member of the Amateur Trap Shooting Assoc., serving one year as President and four years on the Board of Directors of the Ohio State Trap Shooters Assoc. (1976). Mr. Casner has shot over 250,000 registered targets, recently receiving an award and pin indicating that he was a member of the quarter million club. He also recently was inducted into the Ohio State Trap Shooters Assoc. Hall of Fame. Surviving are a sister in-law, Betty Casner of Zanesville. Many nieces and nephews and cousins and special caregivers and friends, Eleanor and George Katsampes of Zanesville, Ohio. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Ruth E. Casner (3/29/2002), a sister, Helen Wallace and a brother, Earl Casner. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. till 1:00 p.m., Wednesday March 15, 2006 at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville, Ohio. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 15, 2006 at the St. Paul Cemetery, near Sonora, Ohio with the Rev. Brenda Buckwell Lisland officiating. Paul requests in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the First United Methodist Church. The VFW George Selsam Post 1058 will hold military services at the gravesite.
