Paul J. " Shack " Kussmaul, 83, of Zanesville died at 5:22 a.m. Friday, November 12, 2004 at Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital. He was born November 20, 1920 in Philo, a son of the late Paul E. & Mary Connar Kussmaul. He was the Co-Owner of Evans Concrete, a member of Market Street Baptist Church, a sixty year member and Past Monarch of Amrou Grotto # 45, a member of Amity Lodge for over sixty years, a member of Scottish Rite, Valley of Cambridge, and Chapter, Council, and Commandry. Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Margaret L. Evans Kussmaul, whom he married August 29, 1941 of the home, a son, Paul E. ( Linda ) Kussmaul and a daughter, Judith A. ( Ed ) Dennis, all of Zanesville, four grandchildren, Glen ( Amy ) Kussmaul of McConnelsville, Jennifer ( Jonathan ) Middleton of Zanesville, Jeff Colling and Jay ( Amanda ) Colling both of Zanesville, 15 great grandchildren and a sister, Ann Kokensparger of Canton. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Thomas and James Kussmaul and a sister, Mary Roberts. Friends may call from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Sunday, November 14, 2004 at Bolin Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville, where services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, November 15, 2004 with Rev. D. Scott Johnston officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Amrou Grotto will hold services at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at funeral home.
