Paul N. Rumery, 92, of Zanesville, died at 5:00 A.M. Wednesday, September 28, 2022 at Genesis Hospice-Morrison House, Zanesville. He was born April 10, 1930 in Crawford County, Ohio, a son of the late Leroy and Ada Frear Rumery. Paul graduated from The Ohio State University with a BA in Business Admistration. He worked for Good Samaritan Hospital as purchasing director then became owner and operator for two ServiceMaster Franchises, one was Commercial Cleaning and the other was Disaster Restoration. Paul was a an United States Navy Veteran of the Korean Conflict, member of the American Legion Post 29, an avid reader, former member of Sertoma, loved the outdoors where he watched nature from the porch.
Surviving are his wife of 36 years, Sharon (Shari) Hubbell Rumery, who he married June 6, 1986; a daughter, Kristy Mayo; two step-children, Kim McNeish and Scott Blumenstock; nine grandchildren, Kourtney Dailey, Nikki (Bobby) Burbank, Corey (Victoria) Dailey, Mallary (Kyle) Miller, Haylee McNeish, Zachary (Andrea) Blumenstock, Taylor (Tanner) Nance, Rebecca Rumery and Sarah Rumery; several great grandchildren and a sister, Janice Farris.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Bruce Rumery; son-in-law, Andy McNeish; brothers, Maurice Rumery and Morris “Eugene” Rumery and two sisters, Phyllis Cook and Patrick Bennett.
Friends and family may call from 2-4 P.M. Sunday, October 2, 2022 at BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, October 3, 2022 at Muskingum Church Cemetery, Nashport with Pastor Donna Edsell officiating. Full military honors will be accorded to him by the United States Navy in conjunction with the VFW George Selsam Post 1058 at the cemetery.
