Paul M. Stiers

Paul M. "Willard P." Stiers, 58, of Reynoldsburg, passed on Tuesday, June 16, 2009 at his residence. He was born September 4, 1950, in Zanesville, a son of Lawrence and Roberta Davis Stiers. He retired in 2000 as the Chief Fiscal Administrator for the Ohio EPA. He graduated with a BA Degree in English and German from Ohio University (Harvard on the Hocking). He was a member of the Messiah Lutheran Church in Reynoldsburg. He enjoyed traveling, going to Las Vegas and every January went to Florida with his closest friends, and detailing his Dodge Intrepid ES. He loved to work in his yard, taking care of his home (Toad Hall) and he was an avid fisherman. Surviving are two sons, Michael (Sheri) Stiers of Chicago, IL. and Joseph (Stacey) Stiers of Reynoldsburg; mother of the children, Linda House Stiers of Reynoldsburg; beloved grandchildren, Alexia and Kaitlynn Stiers; grandpup, Tike Stiers aka Bill Tikeman; three brothers, Lawrence (Marianne) Stiers of Germany, Kenneth (Vita) Gregory of Barlow, OH., and Lou (Cindy) Stiers of Zanesville; two sisters, Ann (Bill) Musial of Florida and Elva (Dave) Frick of Zanesville; many nieces and nephews; and close friends, Steve (Bear) Scoles, Paul (Bonehead) Lehman and Roy (Red Roy) Oxenrider. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his nephew, Chad Frick. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until service time at noon Monday, June 22, 2009 at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville with Pastor Karl Hanf and Dr. Richard Boyer officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
