Pauline J. (Baird) Welsh

Pauline J. "Polly" Welsh, 96, of Zanesville, died at 4:08 A.M. Wednesday, September 11, 2013, at Genesis Hospice-Morrison House. She was born May 6, 1917, in Hopewell Township, a daughter of the late Benton and Lottie Curry Baird. She had worked 27 years for Mosaic Tile, and retired from the Zanesville Times Recorder after 10 years. She was a lifelong member of VFW Auxiliary, a member of Eagles Auxiliary Lodge #302, Central Presbyterian Church, and Dora Black Class. Polly loved to spend time at the Senior Center and she enjoyed playing cards. Surviving are a sister-in-law; a niece; four nephews; and many special friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Edward C. Welsh; brothers Clifford J. and Charles H. Baird; and a sister Roselee E. Baird Per her wishes, no calling hours will be observed and a dignified cremation has taken place. A memorial service will take place at a later date at Central Presbyterian Church. She will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband Edward at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery, Zanesville. Arrangements were entrusted to the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home & Crematory, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville.
