Phillip Johnson, 81, of Zanesville, died at 12:09 P.M. Wednesday August 1, 2018 at Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, Columbus, Ohio. He was born May 21, 1937 in Jackson, Ohio, a son of the late Homer and Frieda Tomlinson Johnson. Phillip retired as a meat cutter from Michael's Finer Meats and after retirement enjoyed driving for Drennan Motors. He proudly served his country as a member of the National Guard. Phillip enjoyed golfing, gardening, telling jokes and his precious pup, Zoey. Surviving are "the love of his life" of 17 years, Flossie Moody: his son, Paul Daniel Johnson; two grandchildren, Ted (Melissa) Johnson and Lynette (Rob) Daniel; three great grandchildren; and siblings, Al, Norma, Betty, Johnnie, and Gloria. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Phillip Johnson Jr.; his siblings, Don, Emmajean, Davy, Bill and two brothers at infancy. A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held from 4-8 P.M. Saturday, August 4, 2017 at West Muskingum Athletic Booster Hall, 2170 Highland Road, Zanesville.
