Phillip J. Miller, 84, of Zanesville, died at 7:45 P.M. Sunday, July 6, 2014, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born December 15, 1929, in Zanesville, the son of the late William Phillip and Ethel Francis Miller. He was a butcher and a farmer by trade. Phillip was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict serving for 33 months. Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Barbara Bell Miller, of the home; two daughters, Phyllis (Rick) Whited and Lisa (Paul) Compton; three step-daughters, Ann (Jeff) Davis, Jan (Bob Wilson) Miller and Nancy (Greg) Smith; ten grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters; three brothers; and a step-son, David Miller. Friends and family may call from 6:00-8:00 P.M. on Wednesday, July 9, 2014, at BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE, where funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, July 10, 2014, with Mr. Kinsey Tanner officiating. Phillip will be laid to rest at Williams Cemetery, Zanesville.
