Phyllis Jean Garrett, 63, of Zanesville, died at 7:32 A.M. on Friday, December 18, 2015, at her home. She was born August 27, 1952, in Zanesville, a daughter of Alma Wilson Reeves of Zanesville and the late Homer Reeves. For the past 10 years, she worked as a receptionist at Genesis, and before that she had worked for Ohio Bell and the Mid-East Ohio Vocational School. She is survived by her husband Steven E. Garrett of the home; two step-children, Trisha (Steve) Winland and Brett S. Garrett, all of Zanesville; three step-grandchildren, Matthew Garrett, Morgan Garrett, and Tyler Winland; a special nephew Travis Hardesty; several nieces, nephews and a great nephew; and five sisters, Shirley (Van) Parkinson of Utica, Kathy Wyer of Zanesville, Pam (Duane) White of Zanesville, Beth (Larry) Moore of Zanesville, and Bobbi (Mark) Hardesty of Frazeysburg. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a grandson Michael Garrett; sister Tam L. Greulich; and a brother-in-law John Wyer. Friends and family may call from 4:00-7:00 P.M. on Wednesday, December 23, 2015, at the BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE. No services will be held and a dignified cremation has taken place.
