Ralph Wolfe

Ralph W. Wolfe, 85, of Zanesville, died at 8:45 p.m. Friday, November 17, 2006 at Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital. He was born December 4, 1920 in New Lexington, Ohio a son of the late Walter and Esthel Spurbeck Wolfe. He retired from Armco Steel after 30 years of service and was U. S Army Veteran of World War II. Ralph was an active member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church and was involved with the Boy Scouts since 1960 . He received the Silver Beaver Award and the God and Country Award. He was a Past District Commissioner for the Muskingum Valley Boy Scout Council. He was president of St. Luke's Lutheran Church Council and was active in Lutheran Social Services. He was a Mason and a member of Zavi Shrine. Surviving are his wife of 59 years ; H. Elizabeth Miller Wolfe, of the home, a daughter; Beth (Jim) Carpenter of Zanesville, a son; Keith (Barbara )Wolfe of Hopewell, four grandchildren; Jae Carpenter and Ashley Carpenter both of Columbus, Julie Wolfe and Kurt Wolfe both of Hopewell, a brother; John (Lavina) Wolfe of Columbus and a sister; Alice McDonald of Zanesville. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother; Sherman Wolfe. Friends may call from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Monday, November 20, 2006 at Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville where funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 21, 2006 with Rev. Arthur Lund officiating. Burial will follow at Zanesville Memorial Park.
