Randy Gene Vandenbark, 63, of Springfield, passed away peacefully in his home on Saturday, July 25, 2015. He was born in Zanesville, Ohio on February 4, 1952, the son of the late Esther Mae (Roberts) Harmon. Randy is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years, Donna Sue (Spinks) Vandenbark; daughter and son-in-law, Shannon and Mike Chamberlain; son and daughter-in-law, Ian and Addie Vandenbark; grandchildren, Alisha Hayman, Ava Vandenbark, Ashlyn Gers and Justin Chamberlain; siblings, Jackie Jones, Ronald Vandenbark and Christine (Jim) Mesaros; special nieces, Sherry (Scott) Long and Sue (Brent) Grissett and families; special friend, Gary Brewer; and numerous nieces, nephews and other friends. He is preceded in death by a sister, Rema Brown; and niece, Julie Mesaros. Randy graduated from Zanesville High School in 1970 and married his lifelong soul mate shortly after. Six months later, he joined the United States Air Force and proudly served his country for over 20 years. Of the many jobs he had during his Air Force years, he enjoyed his title as Lab Technician Instructor the most. Always putting family first, he was even known to switch jobs in the military to stay close to his family. After his Air Force career, he worked for numerous companies, the latest being with Premier Health where he dedicated himself as a Financial Analyst. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandpa, uncle and friend who leaves behind many memories including his love for playing tennis, bowling and music. He will be missed deeply and loved forever. Viewing will be held on Tuesday, July 28, 2015 from 5-8p.m. at the Harmony Missionary Baptist Church in Springfield, Ohio. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 30, 2015 at 12p.m. at Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave. Zanesville, OH 43701 with viewing two hours prior. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
