Raymond R. Fluharty, 70, of Zanesville died at 11:50 A.M. on Sunday, November 6, 2016 at Genesis Hospital, Zanesville. He was born June 3, 1946 in Zanesville a son of the late Raymond T. and Catherine Rittenhouse Fluharty. He graduated from Adamsville High School class of 1965 and was a member of the Duncan Falls United Methodist Church. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of Vietnam. He retired as a Steam Engineer for AEP, was a member of the Dresden Masonic Lodge # 103 F&AM, the American Legion Post 29, the VFW George Selsam Post 1058, and the DAV. He was a past member of Carlwick Grange, Zanesville Rabbit Breeders, an Eagle Scout and Scout Master, a 4H advisor for 25 years, and he owned and operated Thumpers Kountry Klub. He enjoyed going to auctions and was an antique dealer. Surviving is his wife of 46 years, Patricia McKee Fluharty whom he married January 17, 1970; a son, Shawn (Paula) Fluharty; two grandchildren, Brooke Fluharty and Aryka (Troy) Ladd; three great grandchildren, Breyley, Aubrey, and Peter (Spanky Boy); one step-sister Donna Goebel; several nieces and nephews; and K9 companions Kip and Piper. Thursday, November 10, 2016 at Duncan Falls Cemetery with Minister Karen Osborne and Melissa Wood officiating. Full military honors being presented by the United States Navy in conjunction with the VFW George Selsam Post 10 58 and the American Legion Post 29.
