Raymond R. Griffiths, 81, of South Zanesville, died at 9:08 a.m. Sunday, December 2, 2007 at his home. He was born December 6, 1925, in Crooksville, the son of the late Leonard and Eva Sowers Griffiths. He retired as a maintenance caretaker from Nolan Amusement Company and was a World War II Navy Veteran. Surviving are two sons, Raymond E. (Kathy) Griffiths of Littleton, CO and Larry A. (Barbara Wright) Griffiths of South Zanesville; six grandchildren, Chris, Amber, Rodney, Thomas, Jennifer and Brian; seven great grandchildren, Dallas, Justice, Tessa, Maddy, Jake, Mairekk and Elizabeth. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary L. Cantwell Griffiths, who passed last week on November 26, 2007; a son, Rodney Griffiths; two sisters, Teddy Spring and Eva Grace Baughman; three brothers, Leonard Griffiths, Glenard Griffiths and Willis Griffiths. No calling hours will be observed. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 5, 2007 at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Jim Sands officiating. VFW George Selsam Post 1058 will hold full military rites at the graveside. Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville are entrusted with all arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society; 3612 Maple Avenue, Zanesville, Ohio, 43702. He was an avid lover of fishing and camping. Ellis Dam was the spot where family and friends met and children and grandchildren learned valuable lessons in life. After a long illness and the loss of his loving wife of 61 years this past week. Raymond has now gone to be with the Lord.
