Raymond Carl Mchenry

Raymond Carl McHenry, 89, 0f Zanesville, died at 6:30 a.m. Monday, May 14, 2012 at Genesis-Morrison House. He was born October 25, 1922 in Adamsville, a son of the late Floyd and Hazel Edwards McHenry. He was a Methodist by faith, a member of the American Legion Post 29, a World War II U.S. Army Veteran, who was awarded the Purple Heart. Raymond enjoyed hunting squirrels and rabbits, was an avid golfer, fisherman and watching all sports on TV. Surviving are a son, Danny ( Linda) McHenry of McClenny, Florida; two daughters, Theresa (Stephen) Brown of Pataskala and Deborah (Dale) Lampton of Glenford; eight grandchildren; Kelly (Erika) Brown, Brian ( Angel) Brown, Patricia (Bill) Allen, Jessica (Josh Thomas) Bobo, Bethany (Todd) Harris, Danielle ( Dustin Barton) McHenry, Christina Folsom and William (Nikki) Benefield; fourteen great grandchildren and a special caregiver, Vernetta Backus of Zanesville. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Marie Dunlap McHenry, who died May 15, 2006; two brothers, Dwight and Morris McHenry and two sisters, Vera Hutchison and Frances Crum. Friends and family may call from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 17, 2012 at the funeral home with Chaplain Tim Patton officiating. He will be laid to rest at Zanesville Memorial Park. VFW George Selsam Post 1058 in conjunction with the United States Army will provide full military rites at the graveside.
