Rev Roy F. Keyser

Rev. Roy F. Keyser, 81, of Zanesville, died at 2:55 a.m. Thursday, July 9, 2009 at Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital. He was born November 12, 1927, in Zanesville, a son of the late Frank and Alice Ruth Digar Keyser. Roy was the current minister at the Blue Rock Baptist Church, and ministered for over 57 years serving the following parishes: Rockville Baptist, Duncan Falls Baptist, Ark Spring Baptist, Washington Baptist, and Byesville Baptist. He also had the privilege and honor to preside over 614 funerals, 475 weddings and 300 baptisms. He was a World War II Army Veteran and employed at Brockway glass for over 41 years. Surviving are his loving wife of 60 years, Faith Lemon Keyser, whom he married June 18, 1949; one son, Dr. Mark (Maurita) Keyser of Danville, Illinois; two daughters, Deborah (William Andrew) Bauder of Soddy Daisy, Tennessee and Karen Lee Stotts of Zanesville; six grandchildren, Beth (Bob) Woodward, Chad, Sara Stotts and Jacob, Jessica and Zachary Bauder; one great granddaughter, Brylie Woodward; and a nephew, Robert Lee Keyser Jr. of Columbus. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Lee Keyser Sr.; and a sister, Jenny Keyser. Friends may call 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Sunday, July 12, 2009 at Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, July 13, 2009 at the funeral home with Rev. Doug Winner and Rev. Steve Dupler officiating. Burial will follow at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery with full military honors being provided by the United States Army assisted by the VFW George Selsam Post 1058.
