Rhea F. Nixon, 82, of Zanesville, died at 5:40 A.M. Sunday, October 27, 2013 at Genesis Hospice-Morrison House. She was born July 17, 1931 in Zanesville, a daughter of the late Henry P. and Letha P. Phillis James. She retired after 16 years of service in the Volunteer Service Department at Good Samaritan Hospital. Rhea was a member of Coburn United Methodist Church. Surviving are her husband of 61 years, Ralph E. Nixon, of the home, whom she married May 29, 1952; A son; Dan R. (Raye Ellen) Nixon of Mt Vernon Two daughters, Debbie D. (Harry M.) Geddes of Zanesville and Susan R. (William D.) Shaffer of Claysville; Twelve Grandchildren; Three Great-Grandchildren; Three sisters-in-Law; Dorothy Lynn , Sarah West and Ruth Foster all of Zanesville . In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Raye, Lawrence and Dale James; and four sisters; Dorothy Lynn, Neva Lyons, Freda Shoe and Mary Bogard. Friends and family may call from 2-4 and 6-8 pm Tuesday October 29,2013 at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville and one hour prior to services. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at the funeral home with Rev. Doris Flynn officiating. Rhea will be laid to rest at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery, Zanesville.
