Richard "Dick" D. Burson

Richard D. "Dick" Burson, 83, of Nashport, passed away at 10:54 P.M. on Wednesday, January 8, 2014, at Genesis Hospice- Morrison House. He was born May 21, 1930, in Dover, Ohio, a son of the late Thomas and Emma Springer Burson. He graduated in 1948 from Dover High School and retired after 37 years as the General Manager from ACE Truck Equipment in Zanesville, and served 7 years in the Army Reserve. Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Joanne Burtscher Burson , whom he married May 21, 1952; sons Richard (Renee) of Florida and Eugene (Karen) of Columbus; daughter Karen (Dr. Dan) Scheerer of Nashport; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren; brother Dale Stevenson of Canton; sister Virginia Steitz of Dover; brothers-in -law John(Theresa) and Walter (Barbara); and sister-in-law Jeanne Huff. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant sister Joyce; a half brother Dale Flugan; brothers-in-law, Gustave, James and Robert Burtscher, Jerry Steitz and Robert Huff; mother and father -in-law Gustave (Myrtle) Burtscher; and sister-in-law Dorothy Stevenson. Friends and family may call from 1:00 until time of funeral service at 3:00 P.M. on Saturday, January 11, 2014, at the BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE, with Chaplain Tim Patton officiating. A private burial will be held at St. Paul Cemetery, Sonora, on Sunday.
