Richard H. Dusenberry, 85, died at 7:20 p.m. on Wednesday, July 4, 2012 at Cambridge. He was born on September 4, 1926 in Zanesville, a son of the late Leo F. and Teresa Gaus Dusenberry. He retired from Burnham Boiler after 45 years of service, then went to work for Muskingum Township. Richard was a member of the American Legion Post 29, VFW George Selsam Post 1058, Moose Lodge and the Ohio Country and Western Music Association. He was an avid sports fan, played baseball, football and coached Biddy League. Richard loved music and sang with various bands at county fairs, dances and senior centers. He also enjoyed traveling and went on several trips around the United States. Richard served his country in World War Two in the Army Air Forces serving in Japan. Surviving are two daughters, Sherry (Gary) Coulter and Sheila Bilderback all of Zanesville; five grandchildren, Jamie George, Jessica (Joseph) Schneider, Jenny Coulter, Matthew (Megan) and Joe Bilderback; and their father, Bud Bilderback; four great grandchildren, Gregory George, Sean Ford, Kenneth Ford and Gracie Schneider; his loving companion, Barbara Taylor of Cambridge and her grandchildren, Brittaney and Randall; five brothers, Fred (Wilma) Dusenberry of Zanesville, Ed (Sue) Dusenberry of Virginia, Rick (Elaine) Dusenberry of Columbus, Mississippi, Vincent Dusenberry of Akron and Ray (Ruth) Dusenberry of Nashport; a sister, Frances Sherfy of Zanesville, many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline Jane Kirkbride Dusenberry, who died January 3, 2007; a brother, George Dusenberry; three sisters, Mary Randall, Marge Randall and Patty Robertson, granddaughter, Janet Coulter and great granddaughter, Jasmine George. Friends and family may call from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, July 8, 2012 at Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville where the funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 9, 2012 with Rev. Dawn Remster officiating. Richard will be laid to rest beside his beloved Pauline at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery. The United States Army will hold full military rites at the grave.
