Richard M. Huntsman, 63, died at 1:51 A.M. on Friday, July 26, 2024 at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, Columbus. He was born June 22, 1961, in Zanesville, a son of the late William Huntsman Sr and Merle (Hann) Huntsman. Richard was a First Class TM-1 Petty Officer in the United States Navy for 20 years and in 2001, he continued his career as a Civil Service Supply Logistics Analyst until he retired in March of 2021. He was an avid bowler and was a coach for the Tri-Valley Bowling Program. He enjoyed staying active and found joy in woodworking, pen turning, scroll sawing, and working with his hands.

He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Tina A. (Guttery) Huntsman, whom he married October 3, 1998; two brothers, James “Rocky” (Trudi) Richardson of Newark and Bill (Teresa Huff) Huntsman of Zanesville; and two sisters, Deidre Huntsman of Zanesville and Mallory “Sam” (Ron) Kelso of Chandlersville.

In accordance with Richard’s wishes, a cremation will take place with full military honors to be accorded to him by the United States Navy, in conjunction with the VFW George Selsam Post 1058 and American Legion Post 29 Color Guard.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date per the family’s wishes.
