Richard L. “’Dick”’ Newsom, 82, of Zanesville, died at 6:08 A.M. Saturday, November 27, 2021 at Genesis Hospital, Zanesville. He was born October 21, 1939 in Zanesville, a son of the late Ralph and Pauline Bruce Newsom. He was a member of First Christian Church, a United States Army Reserve, enjoyed feeding the birds, mowing the yard with perfection, fishing, camping and other outside activities. Dick enjoyed visiting with the neighbors and the Amish. He retired from The Longaberger Co. and had previously worked for Gould Battery for twenty five years before they closed.

Surviving are his loving wife of 60 years, Judy Boetcher Newsom, whom he married , June 11, 1961, two daughters, Kim (Bobby) Fouch and Lori Mayle-Newsom; two sons, Alan (Renee) Newsom and Danny (Susan) Newsom; fourteen grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren and siblings, Marlene, Ruthann, Georgianna, Tom, Fred and Randy.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Doug Newsom.

A graveside service open to the public will be held at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, December 2, 2021 at Zanesville Memorial Park with Pastor Dawn Remster officiating.
