Richard E. (Doc) Roush, 70, of Zanesville, died at 9:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 15, 2006 at the FOP/FOPA Lodge on Perry Lane. He was born February 19, 1936, in Canton, Ohio, the son of the late Glen and Virginia Ferrell Roush. Doc retired in the steel industry. Doc had been an active member of the FOPA since 1983 and currently serves as a trustee. His life was his active involvement at the FOPA Lodge and thoroughly enjoyed the friendship of all law enforcement officers. He was an active member in the Buckeye State Sheriff's Association. He was active in the giving of blood for the American Red Cross and a member of the American Legion Post 29. He loved his wife, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and pets. Surviving are his wife, Cheryle Deponte Roush, whom he married in 1982 of the home; two daughters, Kimberly (Mike) Grear of Zanesville and Cindy Smith of Canton Ohio; three sons, Ric (Tammy) Roush of Zanesville, Gary (Carolyn) Roush and Kenny (Marty) Roush, both of Canton; two sisters, Wanda Pritt and Mary Jane (John) Boiano, both of Canton, Ohio; ten grandchildren, Cory Roush, Keely Roush, and Ryan Roush, Sara Rowe, Tyler Rowe and Jacob Grear, along with six other grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren residing in the Canton area and one aunt, Mary Ferrell, of Zanesville. Friends may call 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, November 16, 2006 at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home with Mr. Bill Meaige officiating. Burial will follow at Zanesville Memorial Park.
