Richard D. Sharkey, 73, of Zanesville, died at 3:58 p.m. Saturday, August 26, 2006 at his home. He was born July 8, 1933 in White Cottage, a son of the late Frederick D. And Valice V. Rambo Sharkey. He retired after 30 years of service as a machinist at Zane Auto Parts. Surviving are his wife, Patricia L. Triplett Sharkey, whom he married August 31, 1951, of the home, four daughters; Debra (Joe) McClements of Lore City, Penelope (Randy) Garber of New Concord, Cynthia (Rob) Northrup and Melinda ( Walt) Freuh both of Zanesville; Seven grandchildren, Wayne Garber II, Shannon Thompson, Terry Wyers II, Raymond Wyers, Patty Sue Garber, Ike Garber and Derrick Cross; four great grandchildren, Sadi Garber, Ray Wyers II, Ethan Thompson and Jordan Garber, a brother; Warren Sharkey of Zanesville and a sister; Wilma Johnson of Chandlersville. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Pamela Dunwoody, a son, Dale Sharkey Jr., a grandson, Eli Thompson, Jr. and a brother, Frederick Sharkey. No calling hours or services will be held in accordance with Richard's wishes. A caring cremation has taken place. Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville is entrusted with all arrangements.
