Richard Dale Wieber (Gramps), 75, of Zanesville, Ohio, passed away peacefully on November 7, 2024, surrounded by his loving family, after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease.
Rich lived a life full of color, music and hard work. As a guitarist, he played in the band, Bach’s Lunch with friends from high school. He enjoyed sharing his love for music with friends and fans alike. His creativity knew no bounds. He was also a passionate artist and accepted into the Columbus School of Art & Design. He captured life’s beauty on canvas and even transformed ordinary vans into moving art.
Beyond his artistry, Rich owned and operated the Beachcomber restaurant at Buckeye Lake, welcoming everyone with a friendly smile. He proudly served in the Ohio Army National Guard, committing to his country and community.
Rich also found joy in the craftsmanship of restoring antique wooden boats, brining timeless elegance back to the water. His skill and dedication earned him numerous awards. After retiring from the sales industry, he enjoyed spending time with family and watching football. Go Bucks!
His life was a blend of music and artistry, and he leaves behind a legacy of creativity and love for the finer details that make life meaningful.
He was the son of John and Janet Wieber of Newark Ohio born November 1st, 1949. Rich is survived by his wife, Darla, of Zanesville; brother, John Wieber (Staci), of Newark; stepdaughter, Annastacia Morgan (Mike Baldwin), of Zanesville; grandchildren, Alexandria (Tony) Hutchison, Dalton (Vanessa) Morgan, and Addie Baldwin of Zanesville; great grandchildren, Gillian, Vada, & Vallie Hutchison and Zev Morgan; Special niece Shannon (Joe Fountain) of Zanesville; nephew, JD (Charlotte) Wieber; niece, Lisa Wieber; and his lifelong friends Rodger & Marsha Jones; several other nieces and nephews.
He was proceeded in death by his parents; a brother, Steve Wieber; daughter Heather; and great grandson, Vensil Hutchison.
No calling hours will be observed, a caring cremation has been entrusted to the BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE.
