Rita J. Smith

Rita Jean Smith, 69, of Zanesville, died at 8:50 a.m. Sunday, December 28, 2008 at Genesis Hospice-Morrison House. She was born April 2, 1939, in Zanesville, a daughter of the late Clifford and Hilda Trout Tracey. She worked at Ballas Egg and Lear Corporation. Surviving are seven children, Sharon Grant, Russell Smith, Randy Smith, Brenda Fleming, Crystal Burkett, Linda Brunner and Delores Martin, all of Zanesville; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; two brothers, Jimmy Tracey and Gary Tracey, both of Zanesville; three sisters, Helen Watz, Ruthann Alexander and Maxine Lunn. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Smith, who died February 13, 1991; a daughter, Shirley Grant; three grandchildren, James and Daniel Fleming and Mycha Martin; four brothers, Kenny, Tommy, Richard and John Tracey. Calling hours will begin at noon with funeral services at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 31, 2008 at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville with Captain Diane Campbell officiating. A caring cremation will take place following the service.
