Robert John Chema Sr., 77, of South Zanesville, died at 10:35 p.m. Monday, March 27, 2006 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born July 18, 1928 in Zanesville, a son of the late Paul Peter and Rosemary Valinskey Chema. He was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church, retired from General Electric in New Concord, served as past president for local union 2111 IBEW and was a World War II Air Force Veteran . Surviving are his wife, Kathleen Stella Wilson Chema , whom he married December 31, 1949, of the home, a daughter, Rosemary Mitchell of Newark, three sons, Robert John Chema Jr. Of Bradenton, Fl., Mark Stephen (Mary) Chema of Zanesville , and Michael Louis (Bev) Chema of St. Clairsville, six grandchildren, Chad A. Chema, Lisa (Russ) Harper, Christopher Chema, Carrie Chema, Scott L. Mitchell and Ryan (Tara) Mitchell, three great grandchildren, Hayley Harper, Blake Wilson and Madison Wilson, a sister, Thelma Ingram of Dayton, Ohio. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul and Joe Chema, three sisters, Rita Miller, Jolene Malcom and Emma Mix. Friends may call from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Thursday, March 30, 2006 at Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a,m Friday, March 31, 2006 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church with Fr. Leo Connolly officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Olive Cemetery. VFW George Selsam Post 1058 will hold full military rites at the grave. Vigil service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
