Robert C. "Bobby" Dunn, 81, of Zanesville, died at 2:05 A.M. Sunday, September 27, 2009 at Summerville at North Hills. He was born June 21, 1928 in South Zanesville, a son of the late William Marion and Ada Lucille Dusenberry Dunn. He retired from McGraw Edison after 37 years of service, was a member of South Zanesville United Methodist Church, where he served as an usher, a trustee and sang in the choir for many years, was a member of The Muskingum County Country Music Hall of Fame and was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict. Surviving are his daughter, Judy (David) Fowls of Warsaw; two grandchildren, Erin ( Adam) Stone of Dresden and Jenna Fowls of Warsaw; a brother William R. ( Ilice ) Dunn of Port Charlotte, Florida; two sisters-in-law, Betty Newton and Helen Tilley both of Zanesville; a brother in law, Jim (Betty) Tilley of Zanesville and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Johnava Tilley Dunn, who died November 3, 2006 and an infant brother, Robert Dunn. Friends may call from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville and also one hour prior to services at the church. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 30, 2009 at South Zanesville United Methodist Church, corner of Pembroke and East Main Street, South Zanesville with Pastor David Fowls officiating and Rev. Joy French assisting. Burial will follow at St. Paul Cemetery, Sonora, with full military honors being provided by the United States Army with the assistance of the VFW George Selsam Post 1058 . In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to South Zanesville United Methodist Church or to the charity of one's choice.
