Robert J. "Bob" " Fergie" Ferguson, 79, of Zanesville, died at 10:30 a.m. November 14, 2004 at Adams Lane Care Center. He was born June 19, 1925 in Ferrell, Pa., the son of the late Roy and Ethel Fox Ferguson. He retired from the Dana Corp. in 1987, after 24 years of service as a welder. He was an avid bowler and loved to fish. He also was a Navy veteran and proudly served in World War II and was a member of the VFW George Selsam Post 1058. Surviving are his wife, Catherine Helsel Ferguson, of the home, whom he married May 25, 1947; three daughters, Diane (Frank) Laihr of Hopewell, OH; Nancy (Troy) Huffman of Newark, OH; Judy (Jim) Vitaro and family of Warsaw, OH; two sons, Rick (Lynn) Ferguson of Blue Rock, OH; David (Sandy) Ferguson of Cambridge, OH; four sisters, Essie Brandt of Cuyahoga Falls, OH; Margaret (Paul) Ramsey of New Concord, OH; Agnes (Marsh) Gilbert of Newark, OH; Charlene Stouch of Newark, OH; three brothers, Harry Ferguson of Mt. Healthy, OH; Howard (Mary Lou) Ferguson of New Concord, OH; Richard Ferguson of Newark, OH; four grandchildren, Stephanie, Andrea, Quintin, and Shania; six great grandchildren, Tori, Kendra, Callie, Missie, Zach, and Ethan; two step grandsons; Ryan and Paul; two step great grandchildren, Brianna and Dalton. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by twin sons, Calvin and Melvin; three brothers, Roy, Fred and Bill Ferguson. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather that anyone would have been proud of. He will be missed greatly by anyone who loved and knew him. All that knew him were honored to have been called a friend and will never forget him for who he was. Friends may call from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, November 16, 2004 at the Bolin Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, where services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, November 17, 2004 with Rev. Mike Hittle officiating. Burial will follow in New Concord Cemetery.
