Robert L. Frampton, 87, of Gratiot, died at 11:11 a.m. Sunday, October 2, 2005 at Genesis Hospice-Morrison House. He was born January 24, 1918 at Perryton, Ohio a son of the late Earl C. & Minerva R. Baker Frampton. He retired in 1983 as a mechanic for Walker & Batttat of Newark, and pryor to that he was an employee of Sheckard Ford at Brownsville. Mr. Frampton was a member of Gratiot United Methodist Church, Jackson Masonic Lodge # 85 F&AM at Brownsville, a charter member of Newark Vibrator Model A Club and was a avid fan of Model A Fords.He was the official mechanic for the touring group. He was a member of the Newark Lodge IOF # 34. Mr. Frampton was a regular fan of West Muskingum Basketball and he attended games at Hopewell and West Muskingum for over 60 years. He also coached reserve basketball in the early 40's while driving the team bus. Surviving are his wife, Pearl A. Houdeshell Frampton, whom he married March 24, 1940, of the home, two daughters, Nancy (P.J. ) Ranck of Gratiot and Mary Lou ( Richard) Walters of Zanesville, a son, Thomas E. ( Fraya ) Frampton of Zanesville, six grandchildren, Alan ( Barbara) Ranck, Mark (Linda) Ranck, Michelle ( Michael) Francisco, Shane Marie Wolters and Matthew Frampton, five great grandchildren and four step great grandchildren. Friends may call from 3 to 8 pm Tuesday, October 4, 2005 at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville, Ohio and one hour prior to services at the church.Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 noon Wednesday, October 5th, 2005 at the Gratiot United Methodist Church with the Pastor Martha Gross and the Pastor Chuck Norris officiating. Burial will follow at Poplar Forks Cemetery, Gratiot, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be to Genesis Hospice and Palliative Care.
