Robert V. Marhofer, 82, of Zanesville died at 8:30 p.m. Saturday, February 26, 2005 at Genesis Hospice-Morrison House. He was born January 1, 1923 at Pearl, Ohio a son of the late Arby and Florence Schwarm Marhofer. He retired from Nickles Bakery as a manager with over 30 years of service and had worked for Copco Paper Company. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army in World War II where he received the Purple Heart. Robert was a member of Euclid Avenue United Methodist Church and enjoyed golfing and watching sports. Surviving are two daughters, Carolyn ( William ) Plichta of Larkspur, CO., and Kathryn ( Kirk ) Chaney of Frazeysburg, four grandchildren, Diane Plichta of San Clemente, CA., Susan (William ) Kubilus of Littleton, CO., Kristine ( Paul ) Donchess and Robert ( Kelly) Chaney of Frazeysburg: four great grandchildren, Connor & Emily Kubilus and Raegan & Kate Douchess, a sister, Cordelia ( Robert) Stiner of North Canton. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Esther Crile Marhofer, who died January 12, 2004 and a brother, Reuben Marhofer. Friends may call from 3-7 p.m. Thursday, March 3, 2005 at Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville, where services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 4, 2005 with Rev. Clarence Dinnen officiating. Burial will follow at Coshocton Memory Gardens, Coshocton, Ohio.
