Robert Charles Terry

Robert C. Terry, age 87, of Zanesville, Ohio, died at 12:45 am Sunday, October 31, 2004 at the Genesis Extended Care and Rehab Center. He was born September 28, 1917 in Muskingum County, the son of the late Ralph C. and Lulu Wagner Terry. Mr. Terry was retired from Landmark of Columbus, Ohio as an area controller, a graduate of Lash High School and Meredith College. He was a member of the Immanuel United Church of Christ; a fifty year member of the Masonic Lodge of Amity, #5 F & AM, and also a member of the Scottish Rite Valley of Cambridge; the Amrou Grotto Lodge # 45, and the Alladin Temple Shrine of Columbus. He enjoyed flying and received his private pilots license on April, 1963 and his commercial pilots license on November, 1964. He flew until August 1992 at which time he lost his flight medical. He was a member of the Experimental Aircraft Association Chapter # 425 and was a four year veteran of WW2 Surviving are his wife, Katheryn A.(Kate) Scarpella Terry of the home, two step sons, Larry Gatewood of Birmingham, Ala., and Terry (Lana) Gatewood of Ft. Myers, FL., a son inlaw, Kelly L. Ryan of Zanesville, three grandchildren, Cole and Clay Ryan and Todd Gatewood. Also two great grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Jodi Terry Ryan (4/15/1998) Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Tuesday, November 2, 2004 at the Bolin Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville, Ohio, with Pastor Sam Greening officiation. Friends may call from 11:00 am till service time. Burial will follow at Zanesville Memorial Park.
