Robert E. Wagner, 86, of Zanesville, died surrounded by his loving daughters at 10:07 P.M. on Saturday, March 8, 2014, at the home of his daughter in Mount Vernon, OH. Robert was born December 20, 1927, in Parkersburg, WV to the late Major B. and Mildred Ruble Wagner. He retired from McGraw Edison and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Eagles Auxiliary and VFW. Robert was a U.S. Army Veteran who bravely served our country during the Korean War. Robert was an avid fisherman and a faithful Buckeye fan. Surviving are two daughters, Janet (Phillip) Jones of Mount Vernon, OH and Pamela (Thomas) Agin of Reynoldsburg, OH; four grandchildren, Brian (Cortney) Jones of San Diego, CA, John (Brittany) Agin of Columbus, OH, Dr. Anastazia Agin of Dayton, OH, and Heidi Schermer Jones Kuhlman of Gambier, OH; a great grandson, Nathan Jones; a great granddaughter, Evangeline Jones; a sister, Erma Wagner Riley of Dresden; a sister-in-law, Martha Bednarczuk Lewis of Heath; many nieces, nephews and cousins; and his beloved cat, Gracie. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Barbara B. Wagner; a grandson, Brent Robert Jones; and two sisters, Betty Wagner and Mary Lou Wagner Higgins. Per Robert's request, no calling hours or service will be held. A dignified cremation will take place. A private family burial will be held at a later date at Oak Grove Cemetery in Gambier, Ohio.
