Robert J. Wentzel, 65, of Mount Perry, died at 6:50 p.m. Tuesday, June 12, 2007 at his residence. He was born October 1, 1941, in Detroit, Michigan, a son of the late Charles and Angelina Costoline Wentzel. He served 28 years in the United States Air Force, serving in the Vietnam War and was a fireman for 34 years for the Federal Government. He liked to fish, hunt and enjoyed camping. Surviving are his wife Leah J. (Joan) Bates Wentzel, whom he married November 17, 2001, of the home; two daughters, Deanna (Bill) Libengood of Buford, Georgia and Darla (Jeff) Berman of Pickerington, Ohio; a son, Jay (Leslie) Patterson of Clinton, PA.; eight grandchildren, Shawn, Shannon, Emily, Ami, Andrew, Julie, Bailey and Wyatt; a great grandson, Landon; a sister, Delores Wentzel of North Carolina, a brother-in-law, Richard (Barbara) Bates of Heath, Ohio and seven nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Nancy Walker Wentzel and a granddaughter, Jessica Patterson. Friends may call 5-8 p.m. Thursday, June 14, 2007 at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 15, 2007 at the funeral home with Mr. Jerry Huggins officiating. Burial will follow at Zanesville Memorial Park cemetery.
