Robert James (Bobby) Williamson, 25, of Charleston S. C., died Saturday, August 18, 2007 due to injuries he received from a motorcycle accident. Bobby was born April 20, 1982, in Zanesville, the son of Gregory A. and Susan Marks Williamson. By his trade, he was a Collision Refinishing and Upholstery Technologist and had just completed his employment at the American LaFrance Corp. He was to begin his new employment with Boeing Aircraft in Charleston S. C. on Monday, August 20, 2007. Bobby was a graduate of West Muskingum High School and was an original Crew Member on the USS Iwo Jima, serving from 2000-2004. Upon completing surface Warfare Training, he was awarded the Crossed Cutlass Medal. Surviving are his parents, Gregory A. and Susan Marks Williamson of Zanesville; paternal grandfather, C. Robert Williamson of Steubenville; two aunts, Nancy (David) Farrell of Orlando FL. and Danielle Higgins of Orange Park, FL; cousins, Maura, Seth, Michael and Michelle and special friend, Jessica Marquez. Bobby was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, James A. Marks and Mary J. and Bob Higgins; his paternal grandmother, Jacqueline Williamson and great grandmothers, Gladys (Cracker) Williamson and Marian McCleery. Friends may call 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, August 22, 2007 at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave. Zanesville, Ohio and one hour prior to services at the church. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 23, 2007 at the Trinity United Presbyterian Church with Dr. Richard Boyer officiating. VFW George Selsam Post 1058 will hold full military rites at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Susan Mahoney Scholarship Fund, c/o The Muskingum Valley Education Service Center, 205 N Seventh St., Zanesville, Ohio, 43701.
