Roberta C. Thompson Gambill, 95, of Zanesville, died at 11:25 A.M. on Monday, October 16, 2017, at The Oaks of Bethesda, Zanesville. She was born December 26, 1921 in Philo, a daughter of the late George and Viola Walters Paxton. She was a clerk for Y-City Transit Company, worked at Rayfields Clothing, and was a member of North Terrace Church of Christ since 1944. She is survived by two daughters, Shirley Cope and Patricia Roberts, both of Zanesville; three grandchildren, Tresa (Jeff) Campbell, Sheila (Brian) Smith and Brian (Angie) Watts and seven great-grandchildren, Brittani, Brooke and Bailee Smith, Jayna Morrison, Chloe Campbell, Mariah (Luke) Hahn and Nick Watts. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, George Thompson who died in 1990 and True Gambill who died in 1995; a son, Richard Thompson; a brother, Kenneth; and three sisters, Mildred, Della, and Maxine.
