Robert E. “Bob” Hittle Sr., 78, of Zanesville, died at 11:44 P.M. on Tuesday, February 7, 2023, at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born February 14, 1944, in Zanesville, son of the late Roy and Mary (Bunting) Hittle. He was a 1962 graduate of Adamsville High School. He was the owner and operator of Cumberland Trail Customs and the founding owner of Hittle Roofing Systems Inc. He attended Rushing Wind Biker Church and Bob was a past master of Malta Lodge #118 Norwich. He was a founding member of the Old Trail Hunt Club, a lifetime member of Harley Owners Group., and the NRA. Bob’s life was centered around his grandchildren. He loved spending time with them and attending all their activities.
Surviving are his wife of 48 years Cathy (Merriam) Hittle, whom he married February 16, 1974; two sons, Robert E. Jr. (Jo Ellen) Hittle and Brady (Rochelle) Hittle; five daughters, Denise (Bill Keller) Hittle, Bobbie K. (Tim) Neff, Christina (Ray Tom) Stine, Roni (Dave Byler) Lowry, and Theresa Hittle; 20 Grandchildren; 20 Great-Grandchildren; a brother Jeff Hittle; four sisters, Helen Smith, Betty Myers, and twin sisters, Tam Mitchell and Pam Elmore; and his beloved furry friends, Perry and Molly.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by two brothers, Richard and Kenneth Hittle
Friends and family may call from 3:00 - 6:00 P.M. on Saturday, February 11, 2023, at the BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE where funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Sunday, February 12, 2023, with Pastor Mike McGuire officiating. He will be laid to rest at St. Paul Cemetery in Sonora.
