Rev. Robin Jane (her Native American name, Wtellenape Woagan) Milstead, PHD, 70, of Zanesville, died at 1:20 A.M. on Monday, September 14, 2015, at the Cedar Hill Care Center. She was born April 5, 1945, in Zanesville, a daughter of the late Howard A. and Verlah "Jonny" Reed Milstead. She graduated from Adamsville High School and earned her Master's Degree and PHD from the Ohio State University. She had worked at the Batelle Institute, as Director of Appalachian Women's Recovery Center, had been a professor at Zane State, and as a grant writer for Ottawa & Chippewa Indian Nations. She was a member of the ONAC Willowhawk Valley Sanctuary, the Church of Many Ways, and the Healing Angels Ministry. Surviving are a brother, howdy (Gina) Milstead; a sister Becky (Tom) Denton; special nephew Danny Harding and several other nieces and nephews; her spiritual brother Carlo (Wysteria) Carlino; and her spiritual sisters, Whisper (Liam) Robinson and Heather Killen. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Karen Harding; and her brother Steve Milstead. Per Robin's wishes, no calling hours or services will be held. A dignified cremation has been performed under the direction of the BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE. Memorial contributions may be made to the ONAC Willowhawk Valley Sanctuary: 12925 Hamby Hill Road, Frazeysburg, Ohio 43822.
