Roger Lee Hittle

Roger Lee Hittle, 83, of Zanesville, died Thursday, July 12, 2018 at the Genesis Hospice-Morrison House, Zanesville. He was born September 15, 1934, in Gilbert, Ohio, a son of the late Walter and Mary Melloy Hittle, Sr. He retired after 42 years of service as a truck driver. He was a member of the Pleasant Valley Boys Band for 30 years, and was inducted into the Muskingum County Country Music Hall of Fame. He was also a member of the Teamster Local 637. Roger enjoyed singing and playing music, golfing, and watching baseball. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Louanna (Anne) Browning Hittle, whom he married May 2, 1953; two sons, Jack (Lisa) Hittle and John (Jamie) HIttle; a daughter, Mindy (Gary) Parrill; eleven grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; seven step great-grandchildren; three sisters, Peggy Kenley, Joanne Neal, and Mary Lou Kirby; a brother, Larry (Jane) Hittle; brother and sister-in-laws, Dayle and Evelyn Browning, Ronald and Marilyn Sarbaugh, and Jane Ellis; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Walter Hittle, Jr. and two sons, Russell Hittle and Donald Hittle. He will be laid to rest at Rose Hill Cemetery, Roseville.
