Ronald E. "Drag" Harlan, 85, of Zanesville, died at 12:30 P.M. on Tuesday, June 25, 2013, at the Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital. He was born June 8, 1928, in Zanesville, a son of the late William R. and Lavada M. Smith Harlan. He retired as a truck driver from B & L Motor Freight Inc., was a Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict, was a 30 year member of LaFayette Lodge 79, a 50 year 32nd Degree Mason with Valley of Cambridge, a member of Amrou Grotto Lodge 45, and was an avid golfer who enjoyed traveling and sightseeing. He especially enjoyed being with his friends at the Genesis Lifestyle & Fitness Center. Surviving are an aunt Loretta Ralph of Middlefield, OH; and cousins Lanny Seckman of Zanesville, Alice (Ken) Smith Berry of Zanesville, and Wilma Smith Everett of FL. No calling hours will be observed. A graveside service will take place at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, June 28, 2013, at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery, Zanesville, with Chaplain Tim Patton officiating. Arrangements were entrusted to the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Avenue, Zanesville.
