Ronald E. "Crank" Makin Sr., 75, of Zanesville, died at 10:50 p.m. on Friday, December 2, 2011 at Willow Haven Care Center. Ronald was born on November 5, 1936 in Zanesville, a son of the late Robert and Lois Maxwell Makin. He retired from McGraw Edison after 38 years of service. Ronald was a member of Moose Lodge # 867, a member of the Air National Guard of Ohio, an avid Golfer, softballer, card player and a farmer. Surviving are his wife, Nancy Ann Masterson Makin, whom he married September 30, 1954;one daughter; six sons; thirteen grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, a sister ,and a special companion, Niko , his dog. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Bobby Makin. Friends and family may call from 6-8 p.m. Monday, December 5, 2011 at Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville. Funeral services will be held at Noon Tuesday at the funeral home with Pastor Mike McGuire officiating.
