Ronald L. Mills, 78, of Duncan Falls, died at 1:03 P.M. on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, at Embassy of Newark. He was born June 29, 1946, in Zanesville, a son of the late Ralph and Mary Katherine (Yarger) Mills. Ronald proudly served his country as a veteran of the United States Army, he was a parishioner of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, where he was active in the Knights of Columbus, and he retired from the North Valley Bank. He enjoyed hunting, Sunday horse shows, and vacationing at Myrtle Beach. Over the years he loved watching his children and his grandchildren play soccer, softball, and participate in 4-H events. He was an avid fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Columbus Blue Jackets.
He is survived by his wife of fifty-six years, Jackie S. (Wilson) Mills whom he married on July 27, 1968; his children, Troy (Carrie) Mills, and Jennifer (Chris) Hemmelgarn; his grandchildren, Zachary Mills and Sophia Hemmelgarn; cousin, Narda (Larry) Sowards; and numerous other cousins.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Friends and family may call from 1-3:00 pm and 4-6:00 pm, with a Rosary Service to be held at 2:45 pm, all on Monday, February 3, 2025, at the BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 am on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church with Fr. Brian Beal as Celebrant. He will be laid to rest at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery with full Military Honors accorded to him by the United States Army in conjunction with the VFW George Selsam Post 1058.
