Ronald D. Palmerton, 63, of Zanesville, died at 5:25 p.m. Tuesday, January 11, 2011 at his home. He was born May 20, 1947, in Zanesville, a son of the late Alva D. and Mildred Bunting Palmerton. He worked as a salesman for Nationwise Auto Parts and previously worked for McGraw-Edison. He was a member of Central Trinity United Methodist Church. He loved his grandchildren and was an avid card player who enjoyed the Wheeling "Vegas" Casinos, Cleveland Browns and The Ohio State Buckeyes. Surviving are his wife of 43 years, Rebecca A. "Becky" Stoops Palmerton, whom he married June 10, 1967, of the home; two daughters, Anita (Steve) Phillips of Thornville and Lisa Bash of Zanesville; five grandchildren, Nicklaus Phillips, Brandon and Zach Phillips, Sydney and Hayden Bash; an uncle, Gerald Grubb of Zanesville; many cousins and friends; and good friends, Jim and JeanAnn Allen of New Concord. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant brother. Friends and family may call from 2-4 & 6- 8 p.m. today, Thursday, January 13, 2011 at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 14, 2011 at the funeral home with Rev. Thomas England assisted by Rev. Skip Colvin officiating. Ronald will be laid to rest in Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
