Ronald Eugene Pratt, 74, of Zanesville, died at 12:04 P.M. on Saturday, May 1, 2021, at Genesis Hospital, Zanesville. He was born October 27, 1946, in Wheeling WV, a son of the late William L. and Julie M. (Serturini) Pratt. He was the Vice President of Business Services for Zane State College and a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church. He earned his Bachelor’s degree at Bliss College and his Master’s degree in Higher Education at Ohio University. Ron started out as a Page at the State House, worked at the State of Ohio Auditor’s Office, and then Zane State College (MATC) for thirty-seven years. Ron had a building named after him in Cambridge called the Willett-Pratt Training Center. He was a member of Sertoma and Jaycees. He loved Corvettes, being a lifetime member of the Corvette Museum, enjoyed NASCAR Racing, and boating.
He is survived by his wife of twenty-nine years, Jill K. (Jackson) Pratt; two sons, David (Jenniffer) Pratt and Jeremy (Nancy) Pratt; two step-sons, David (Elizabeth) Tharp and Jeff Tharp; a step-daughter, Julie (Travis) Sterling; thirteen grandchildren, Katie, Clay, Conner, Courtney, Caleb, Emma, Jake, Nick, Ben, Mia, Zane, Zoe, and Max; three great-grandchildren, Piper, Colbie, and Tucker; and two brothers, William (Tony) Pratt and Rick Pratt.
Friends and family may call from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at the BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE and one hour before the funeral service to be held at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, May 6, 2021, with Pastor Andrew Wilson officiating. He will be laid to rest at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery, Zanesville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Genesis Cancer Center, 2951 Maple Avenue, Zanesville OH 43701.
Self-provided face masks must be worn and social distancing be observed during the calling hours and funeral service.
